You're definitely going for a revolver then? Looks darn sweet, and a steal at that price!

Just purchased an old Wooden Camera tripod from a seller in the Ukraine. It's not a Folmer Graflex No.1b tripod, but it's good enough. Should be able to support my Speed Graphic camera without any trouble.

Within the last two days, just received 3 Hudson M3A1 mags from airsoftshop.com (with no problems, I might add, although in my embarrassment I was expecting some), and 8 plastic Marushin Garand clips from AirsoftGlobal.

Nice find on the tripod.

I thought that holster was for an automatic though? After all it has the mag pouch on one side. as for which pistol im still very very torn. the 1911 is my favourite real steel pistol to shoot and nice and cheap in the form of a WE one. but the tanaka m10 revolver is very tempting. I showed the wife both last night and she said "oooh i like the revolver more" so that could be the green light :P just waiting for Syd to give his a test this weekend so I have an idea of how many shots he gets from a cylinder fill. The revolvers all good and well but if im getting 10 shots per fill im better off with the 1911 heh

Mistook it for one of these

Your right, yours is for an automatic. The studs aren't quite the same as the M3 holster. But it looks good.

yes, I will sacrifise my very short and expensive time for aome info gathering. Its a hard life. I suppose I will have to make do with chance to fire the revolver, Its a hard life

BTW yes the holster is for the Colt 1911A1. The US Army didnt have a revolver on general issue in th ETO, although many took their own revolvrs with them.

According to the chap I've bought it from he bought it from a ww2 para trooper. however not managed to find other examples of it on the web so not 100% sure. either way looks the part and it should fit a revolver if i do have the funds to get one

Oh and your time is most appreciated Syd :)

now thats just plain mean! :P and yes. I will be getting and have always wanted the tanaka m10 revolver. just wasnt sure I had the money free this month for it. Wife now says she'll get me it for my birthday :) just need to order it

Syds checking how many shots I'll get from it too but it sounds great. No mags to lose. plenty of shots. Unusual looking. fantastic little pistol

you're right in your comment though. having only used friends gas pistols before and never having my own it was a complete minefield of questions. big thanks to Richard, Steve, and Syd for answering my questions and perservering with me :)

well I asked steve and he pointed me to richard who answered some more and pointed to syd hehe. i did google it some but not many people seem to have the tanaka m10

thats what I love about this forum compared to other airsoft ones. if they dont know they can point you to someone who does. its fantastic.

and yes a bit early. My birthdays July 10th but my wife would much rather I had something I really wanted a bit early than a bunch of junk I wont use on my birthday :) bless her. She supports me so well in my hobbies.

What was your other option before the p38?

Hi guys

I have a P38, too - my first pistol and my only one at the mo - absolutely love it. Good weight, feels great in the hand and fires pretty well. Works just like the real steel. I can get three mags out of one fill of gas - ie 36 shots. Got plans for one or two others in the future..... :D

Kiev 2a Camera

A Russion post-war production of the German Zeiss Contax II made from parts and by the machines from the Zeiss Factories.

Robert Capa shot his D-Day photos with a Contax II. But as I can't afford one I've gone for the cheaper alterantive ;)

do you use your camera's or are they just for show so to speak ? (I think am right in assuming its yourself that collects many cameras?)

I do intend to use them all, depending on how hard it is to get certain film types. Most use regular 35mm or 120 film though.

This one is for 35mm film so that shouldn't be a problem. I select one or two cameras that I take to an event. There are some that enjoy more use then others. The Kiev will be a Contax stand-in for my Civilian War Photographer impression.

I love the sharpness and quality of these vintage cameras. The images they capture have a certain feel about them that can't be achieved with digital cameras and programs like photoshop...especially if you make errors like in this shot

Top piccie and many of those using camera's in the field would have had much the same knowledge about lighting  thus kinda makes it more authentic for some types of pictures, not worrying if the appature is right etc.

Next question as am curious and nosey so sorry to others for post hijack  I pressume you do you're own developing of piccies?
